The short version. This is a free hobby project provided as-is. Use your own API key, follow your school's rules about calculators, and do not rely on the maths answers without checking them.
TI-84 Chat is a free tool that connects a TI-84 Plus CE calculator to AI services through your browser. It is a personal project, not a commercial product, and it comes with no warranty or guarantee of availability.
The app does not include AI access. You supply a key for a provider such as Groq, OpenRouter or Google, and your use of that service is governed by their terms, not ours. You are responsible for any costs your account incurs, though the free tiers we point at do not require payment details.
Answers come from a language model and can be confidently incorrect, including the worked steps in the maths app. Check anything that matters. Do not use this as your only source for homework, coursework or an exam answer.
Many exams and classrooms prohibit programs on calculators, connected devices, or both. Using this in an assessment where it is not permitted is cheating, and that is on you. Check your school's and exam board's rules before installing anything. We would rather you did not get in trouble.
Installing the calculator programs is at your own risk. They are compiled C programs launched through arTIfiCE or Cesium. Anything you put on a calculator can, in principle, require a memory reset to recover from — back up anything you care about first.
